Montreal host the 37th edition of Coup de coeur francophone (CCF) from November 2nd through November 12th, 2023.
The aim of the CCF is the promotion of French-language song. For this occasion, the talented Belgian David Numwami will present his show on 3 novembre au Ministère. David Numwami is an artist of Rwandan origin. He was born in 1994 and fled Rwanda with his family during the genocide. In the aftermath of this tragedy, he took up music and learned to play the guitar. Alongside his artistic life, he studied philosophy. The timbre of his voice and his dexterity with his instruments quickly won him over. His collaborations with renowned artists such as Charlotte Gainsbourg and Sébastien Tellier are testimony to this musician's talent.
There will be a large number of Belgian professionals present at this festival. Among them, Julien Fournier, director of the Wallonie-Bruxelles Musiques Agency, will take part in a panel on the discoverability of French-language music as part of the Rendez-vous de l’ADISQ. Lisa De Santis, director of the Centre culturel Chapelle-Lez-Herlaimont, Anne Whatelet, director of the Centre culturel de Huy, Julien Piret, owner of un Soir Autour du Monde (a booking and management structure) and Julien Farinella, founder of Art-i (an artistic agency based in Liège) will also be present.
