About MUTEK
Founded in 2000, MUTEK is dedicated to presenting live electronic music and real-time audiovisual performance, making it one of North America's rare showcases for innovation. After more than 20 years in existence, the festival's pioneering mission has matured. Its commitment to the perpetual mutations and variations of contemporary digital creativity remains, with eyes and ears always focused on the future.
Now spanning six days and nights, the Festival integrates the professional section of the Forum into the architecture of the week to foster conversations and encounters around current technological practices and thinking. Since its inception, the festival has been part of a global network, creating an international meeting place for artists and audiences alike, and striving to develop a context conducive to discovery and exchange. MUTEK is committed to programming that is more equitable and representative of all diversity, particularly through the Amplify initiative, in keeping with its values of inclusion and accessibility.
Over the years, MUTEK has built up a unique model that has proven to be spectacularly exportable. Its ramifications now span four continents, in six other cities. Each branch draws on the festival's value chain to further stimulate the richness of electronic and digital art. mutek.org
